Dialogic Process Team

The Dialogic Process Team is a subcommittee of the Anti-Racist Task Force. We have been working together since Spring 2021 to build workshops and tools for having (or preparing to have!) tough conversations about race and racial identity.

At the heart of the dialogic process work is a desire to build community through conversation that starts with our own awareness of racial identity.

We are building a series of workshops: The Stories We Tell: Conversations About Racial Identity. The first is a 75-minute workshop that creates a space for participants to reflect on their racial identity and share what they choose with a small group. We invite participants to enter their conversations with openness and kindness, and with the expectation that they are likely to be uncomfortable. One goal for beginning this process is to learn how to be with that discomfort.

Each workshop is facilitated by two members of the Dialogic Process Team and can be conducted in person or via zoom. We are currently scheduling workshops upon request, and customizing the framing of the workshop for each group. If you’re interested in bringing this workshop to your group, please email us. You can let us know your objectives and/or questions via email and/or we can set up a time to discuss on a zoom call.
